Personification Story

My Village

The cows sing their songs in the land while their is a gentle sound of trees gossiping. 
The silence means the stars are sleeping while the flowers grow. 
The river was travelling away with the eels as they both prey. 
The rain passes by to say hi but he is too late because the grass is asleep
In the morning the mail boxes are hungry for mail but they have to wait till the truck passes by.
That's my village.

One angry day my family moved to the UK and we lived in this old house. It had lot of grave stones  in the backyard which I did not like but he had to because our old house has to many bills. But the house turned out to be haunted so we ran to the door for our lives but the door locked and we were trapped inside. We ran to the window it was open dad was halve out but it shut and dad was dead!

Week 7 Reflection

What: This week it was daffodil day and my mum brought me and my little brother Ashton a daffodil day muffin, they were 2 dollars each. I can't wait to eat them up because they look nice and they are yellow which makes them look good. Also this week we did buddy art, my buddy was Skye we made  bugs after we finished them Skye read a book to me.This week we have been learning to use comma's.

So What: This week I learnt I have used all my senses except for listening. I have also learnt you can't rely on someone all the time.  

Now What: This week I want to get better at listening,running and organizing.

Week 6 Reflection

What: This week some Chinese students came to our school. My buddy there was called Rain he had lots of different hobbies but he didn't tell me what they were. After lunch we did Jump Jam. Watch the video it will give you an example of Jump Jam. This week we also did Gym it was fun because we did flips and rolls. I think I was the best at forward rolls but not so much back rolls. I like doing islands.  

So What: This week I learnt how to make a Poi which was nice to know and I learnt to be careful on gluing. For this weeks habit of mind we got a piece of paper which had our subjects we do in class on it and we had to write what senses we use for that subject on the piece  paper.    

Now What: I need to get better at art and concentrating and to treat people how they want to be treated. And I want to go on more school trips.

A beaver is an animal that has large front teeth and a large tail on its back.  Beavers live in ponds that they make by building a dam on a small river or stream.
Beavers the Builders
Beavers can cut down trees with their powerful teeth. They use the sticks and twigs from the trees to build their dams.  They also use mud from the ground to hold everything together and fill in the holes.
Beavers Lodges
Beavers build their homes in the middle of their ponds. Their homes are called lodges. The entrance to the lodge is underwater. This helps protect the beavers from predators. When a beaver sees a dangerous predator like a wolf the beaver slaps its tail on the water and hides in the lodge.
The Fur Trade
			In the past, people called trappers hunted beavers for their valuable fur. Beaver fur is very warm so their fur was used to make hats.

Week 5 Reflection

What: This week it was wacky hair day and I used my dads rocker wig but it was really really itchy. Kahu wore a brown afro but it was very small and didn't stand out. The whole school did it and it was fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis. This week we also did Maori and we tied these strings together. Me and Damien messed it up which was very annoying. Then it turned it to a knot and we had to undo it which was also annoying.      

So What: This week I learnt to remember stuff from the past and put it in new knowledge. I learnt do not rush your work or it will look terrible. Also put colour in you work.  

Now What: I need to get better at P.E and stretching and getting somewhere on time. 

Onomatopoeia Story

Once I was waiting for the mail it took ages but finally it came. I ran to my room I got in and shut the door. Bang! 

Room 15 First Item

Last week me and my class had a item, it was about sleeping beauty. If you watch this play I will be the police man who says ''every body just freeze'' My old friend was the butler. My friend will be the maid. So I hope you will enjoy it.  

Week 3 Reflection

What: This week a lot has happened, first of all we have a new teacher aide, he is called Mr O'Donnell and he is helping Tyson. We got to watch this video about the Olympics and NZ won gold medal and some flowers. My behaviour goal is to get better at concentrating and listening. I think I achieved that goal. I also did print making. I made a Luke Sky Walker.       


So What: This week I learnt to think out side of the box and I have been learning about the Olympics too. which is cool.  


Now What: I want to get faster, stronger and smarter. Next week I want to do gym again.

What the Olympic Rings mean?

Week 2 Reflection

What: This week we went to the Wanganui BOYS and GIRLS and we learnt some stretching moves one of them is called the pike. We also do this new web site called http://www.khanacademy.org/ which is fun so you should do it.


So What: I learnt to never ever ever get a detention. I learnt that lesson the hard way and my punishment is banned from the Xbox for the weekends but I will try to convince mum. I also learnt to get your work finished on time.


Now What: To not get detention and to get better at handwriting.

9.00 AM. One morning I got up, it felt like a average day but it wasn't. I was watching TV and water started to come through the windows and doors. I panicked I grabbed a bag and filled it with stuff I needed. That was food, some water not that I needed it, clothes, glue, a little mirror and my toy lightsaber. I ran outside to check what was going on and a tsunami happened!

Space glog

This is my inquiry glog and I did it about space facts. I hope you really like the glog.

In maths we have been learning to use place value to solve addition problems. That is why I have made this glog.

Museum Trip

Today my class and Room 6 went to the museum and we learnt some Maori. We also learnt about the stars and the constellations they make. First we went to the big ball thing and when you are inside you feel like you are in space and I really enjoyed going in. You can see all the stars and planets!!. when you go in the big ball thing its like going into a black hole. After that we went to learn about the Maori New Year. We learnt about what they did to celebrate, like how they killed birds which I am against and how they had fun. We did the haka and went back to school.

Week 4 Reflection

What: This week I did another Picasso face but we painted it instead, I haven't finished it yet but a really want too. We are sticking on pipe cleaners, feathers and lots of other funny different things. We also got a drawing lesson from a real artist called Graham Braddock. He taught us how to draw a possum. First you measure where the picture is going to be, so we did that. Then we started the legs, arms and head of the possum. That took some thinking about thinking. I also changed my blog title name but I did not want to. Frank Bunce came to our school too and talked to us about the rescue helicopter.


So What: I learnt that you need to draw very lightly if you want to make a very very good picture. I learnt how to do great shading. I think I finally know how to find the main idea in each paragraph in the story.   


Now What: I really want to finish my Picasso face so I can put the materials on. I want to get better at writing and handwriting. Also want to get the habits of mind about thinking about thinking poster in the hall.

Frank Bunce

Today Frank Bunce came to my school to talk about the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and how he played rugby. We got a photo with him as well as an autograph.  The pilot for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter said what they do and how they do it.  They have this thing called the winch and they lower someone down and bring him up again with the sick or injured  person. If they can't land  that is how they rescue someone.

Week 3 Reflection

What: This week my class finished off all of our unfinished work, so far I have to do 2 more things and they are my book cover and my last activity. And we did Picasso art and that is a face looking too ways one looking sideways and one looking forwards mine is cool I have already finished it looks really effective as well.

So what:I learnt that you colour in one way and I learnt use a better maths strategy. And to use '' in my writing as well.

Now what: I want to get better at handwriting and Maori language.

Week 2 Refliction

What:This week we have been given a project to do about my favorite book my favorite book is the Tin Tin series i have nearly read all of them and we have made toilet rools in to our favorite main charector in our favorite books.I made tin tin and this week we did this reading bug thing but I didn't get to to one which is sad and the only resin is because I was sick but I don't really care.

So what:This week I learnt that I don't have to use my hands so that means I finally got better at maths and I learnt some new moves for the haka

Explore Parliament

Today I went to www.explore.parliament.co.nz. It is cool because you get to make your own bill, law and rule. I learnt that a bill is a draft law.  

Mr Scurr Teaches Us

Today Isaiah was a teacher because he taught us how to do a graph in Microsoft Excel. Here are some of my graphs, I hope you like them.

Our special visitor

Today Ms O'Connor, our deputy principal's sister came in and taught us some things about prison because she is an x prison officer. Here are some things I learnt, you get breakfast at 5AM and lunch at 8AM and tea at 4PM. You can get money by doing jobs like cooking food or a care taker.

Week 9 Reflection

What:This week me and the class went to visit a different school, it was Fordell School, it is a very small. school but the play ground is cool and the children are very nice.We got a new download. It is called comic life it is  awesome because you can make your own comics. We had our swimmathon and we did observational drawings of Mrs Larsen.


So what:Me and the class went to visit a sheep farm and a dairy farm. I learned how  you drench a sheep. You grab it's neck and shoot the water stuff into its mouth, by the way I already  know about this because I live on a farm and my dad has done it before.    


Now what:I want to get better at maths and spelling because I want to improve on these subjects.

week 6 Reflection

what:we Had a reliever on Thursday and Friday the teacher was Mrs Coneglan.

so what: We went to the police and learnt what the police really do and they do more than what you think.property,people and protect we made people for our class treaty .

now what:I want to get better at maths and sports.

School Spirit day

At school we had a school spirit day ,we had to dress as our favourite super hero. I dressed as batman I made my costume with the help from my dad and mum. My teacher dressed as Harry Potter and my best friend dressed up as Albert Einstein. It wasn't just our class it was the whole school as well, here is a video clip of the school dressed up.  If you watch you can try to spot me.

Week 5 Reflection

What: We had Purple Cake Day at school. I got 2 purple cupcakes and did some finger painting with purple paint. Today we all dressed as hero's for our school spirit day. I dressed as Batman and Kahu was Albert Einstein.

So What: I learnt how to make a graph called a dot plot. I also learnt this new website ixl.com. It is a maths website.

Now What: I want to do better at maths and spelling.

Purple Cake Day

All about purple cake day it empowers them to learn about children globally and fundraise for those in need.
We invest in access to and delivery of quality education opportunities. This brings hope, education and real change to children living in poverty and hardship.

What I did for purple cake day is, I got purple cupcakes and made a finger painting with purple paint.

Rules and Laws - What's the difference?

A rule is something that a group of people have to follow and is not enforced by police or government but may be enforced by a leader of a group.

A law is a system of rules and guidelines which are enforced through social institutions to govern behavior, wherever possible. It shapes politics, economics and society in numerous ways and serves as a social mediator of relations between people.

A law I know is no killing humans and no sexual abuse.

If this law was never made it would be a disaster, most humans will be dead and there will lots of protesters.

Beach Safety

One day my classroom went to Castlecliff beach to learn about beach safety. Three things things I learnt about it is that rips are dangerous because if you get in one you get pulled out to sea. If you spot one then stay out. This is how you spot them, if the water is a differnt colour then the sea then it is a rip. We saw how fast you have to be to get changed if you were a lifeguard, some kids tried to do it in a race. I also learnt that the lifeguards boat is actually called I.R.B which stands for inflatable rescue boat.

Week 4 Reflection

What: We had a school picnic and I played zombies with Jaime Ohagen and Ronan Shaw. Me and Ronan also played sooccer and I got a goal. After that I had fish'n chips.And I also got Kingi our class mascot to take home with me. I wrote a story in his book and took photos.

So What: We went to Castlecliff Beach and learnt about beach safety I learnt that the life guards boat is called an I.R.B and it stands for inflateable rescue boat and how to spot and stay out of rips.

Now What: To do more trips so I can learn new and different stuff.I also want to improve on my maths.

Week 3 Reflection

What ; We did a listening test where you litsen to peoples stories and fill in bubbles that relate to the stories. We went to room 12 and did buddy art there, we helped them do their befunky pictures.I learnt how to do all my homework correctly. 

So what : I learnt how to speak some greetings in maori for exsample kia ora means hello or hi.
